About Our Center . . .

The Cognitive Therapy Center of New York is one of several centers established throughout the world with the cooperation of Dr. Beck.  These centers have been designed for the purposes of outpatient psychotherapy, training, and research.
The Manhattan Center was established by Dr. Jeffrey Young in 1986, and he continues to serve as the Center Director.  You can read more about Dr. Young later on the web site.
If you'd like to inquire about becoming a patient at the Manhattan Center, please call us anytime at 212-221-0700 .  If you'd like help finding a referral outside the New York City area, call  212-221-1818, ext. 5.

If you live in the New York Tri-State area, let us tell you a little about our centers. Our clinical staff and affiliates include licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers with extensive backgrounds in the practice of cognitive therapy.
We do not employ interns, residents,  or fellows, only licensed professionals.  If you're "therapist shopping" at other centers, be sure to ask whether the therapist you will be seeing is already licensed, and how many years of cognitive therapy experience he or she has had since becoming licensed.  Some centers charge full fees for therapists in training or with minimal experience after graduating.
Day and evening hours are available by appointment.
